Video: Cavs Fans Burn LeBron's Jersey Posted: 09 Jul 2010 01:13 AM PDT Cleveland sports fans haven’t seen a championship in any sport in nearly 40 years. On Thursday night, they watched in horror as LeBron James announced live on ESPN that he’s leaving Cleveland for Miami. Not surprisingly, Cleveland fans responded with anger. Watch the videos below to see Cavs fans burning LeBron’s jersey. Seriously, I can’t blame Cavs fans. LeBron was a drama queen throughout this entire process and decided to showcase his breakup with the Cavs on live television. That was just harsh and uncalled for. It’s understandable that LeBron wanted to join Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami with the Heat. They will have a great team. But he could have handled the situation with more class. Instead, he’s now viewed as an immature narcissist who doesn’t understand the real world. I hope you win many championships, LeBron, or else the last few weeks will go down as a PR blunder of epic proportions. Here are the videos of LeBron James jerseys getting lit on fire by Cavs fans: Post from: EveryJoe |
South Beach Stunner: LeBron Picks Heat Posted: 08 Jul 2010 08:55 PM PDT LeBron James went on live television on Thursday night to announce where he would sign as a free agent. After much hoopla, LeBron decided to join the Miami Heat and form an imposing threesome alongside Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. With one decision, LeBron has now changed the entire NBA landscape. Even though the Heat just have a handful of players, they already have to be considered the favorites to win the 2011 NBA championship. LeBron is arguably the best player in the league, while Wade and Bosh could easily be in the top ten. Those three players together will be deadly. LeBron’s decision ripped the hearts out of every NBA fan in Cleveland. The Cavs went from championship contender to life support. Fans in New York, New Jersey, Chicago and Los Angeles were also disheartened. Now all the Heat have to do is fill out their roster. They reportedly are close to signing Mike Miller to a deal. You can bet there will be dozens of other players wanting to get in on this instant powerhouse. Mark it down — July 8th, 2010 is a date when the NBA changed forever. Post from: EveryJoe |
Posted: 08 Jul 2010 08:54 PM PDT LeBron James added another layer of misery to the sad history of Cleveland sports. The entire state of Ohio will likely never forgive LeBron for picking up his things and leaving for the Miami Heat. He went from King to Villain overnight. That said, Dan Gilbert’s epic meltdown might actually be the story of the night. Gilbert, the owner of the Cavs, lost his marbles shortly after LeBron’s announcement. His open letter to Cavs fans is rather pathetic and is the ultimate in sour grapes. In it, he calls what LeBron did a “cowardly betrayal” while guaranteeing continued success in Cleveland. Wrote Gilbert: “I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER 'KING' WINS ONE” He ends the rant by saying Cleveland’s sports curse has now been lifted and will follow LeBron to Miami. Yes, his rant is as crazy as it sounds. Furthermore, when talking to the Associated Press, Gilbert says that LeBron quit in the playoffs in 2009 and 2010. Gilbert has also indicated that he is going to expose all the dirt the Cavs have been hiding the last few years. With that in mind, the Dan Gilbert meltdown may just be getting started.
