R. Kelly Sings Anthem of 2010 World Cup Posted: 11 Jun 2010 10:03 AM PDT R. Kelly opened the 2010 World Cup with “Sign of A Victory” – the official anthem of the competition. Back in the 90s, the sports world embraced his signature song “I Believe I Can Fly.” He hopes the new song can inspire people around the globe with a message of hope and triumph. “Sign of A Victory” is part of the Listen Up! The Official 2010 World Cup Album, which contains songs from Shakira, Wyclef Jean, Japanese sensation Misia, and South African musician/activist Jpre. R. Kelly and the Soweto Spiritual Singers performed the song at the opening ceremony at the Johannesburg Soccer City Stadium. All proceeds from the album will benefit African charities. Posted: 11 Jun 2010 09:52 AM PDT Unless you have been living under a rock, you are aware that the 2010 FIFA World Cup kicked off in South Africa today. Fortunately for soccer fans, ESPN and ABC will stream 54 of the 64 games live on the newly launched ESPN3.com (formerly ESPN360). ![]() Image: FIFA Additionally, all 64 matches in the Cup will be available live on mobile devices to customers whose plans include TV on their phones. You can also keep track of what’s going on at the World Cup through a variety of iPhone apps such as SouthAfrica 2010 – World Soccer Cup iTracker. Because many of the games are on during the day in the US, many people will be watching from their computers at the office. ESPN expects worldwide online traffic for the World Cup to double or triple that of 2006. Post from: EveryJoe |
Hottest Chick Over 45: Gina Gershon Posted: 10 Jun 2010 08:29 PM PDT Who says all the hot chicks are in the 20s. You probably learned to love Gina Gershon in Cocktail (1988), Showgirls (1995), and Face/Off (1997). Today, the sizzling brunette celebrates her 48th birthday — that’s right, 48. Before embarking on her acting career, she attended Beverly Hills High with Lenny Kravitz, and went on to Emerson College. Back in 2008, there was a rumor that she was romantically involved with former President Bill Clinton – but she nixed that rumor. “It is such a crazy, outrageous lie… I met him three times at events. It disturbed me on so many levels,” she said. Let’s take a moment to appreciate Gina on her birthday. ![]() Image: Apega/WENN.com

Posted: 10 Jun 2010 08:17 PM PDT When you think of Glen “Big Baby” Davis, you get the mental picture of a goofy, high-energy reserve for the Boston Celtics. In Game 4 of the 2010 NBA Finals, Big Baby was the Big Star. When Big Baby wasn’t mugging for the crowd, he was letting drool escape from his chubby cheeks. After the final horn sounded, the Celtics had a 96-89 victory and Big Baby had 18 points, five rebounds and two steals in 22 minutes of play. Boston was quiet for much of the night until the beginning of the fourth quarter. That’s when Big Baby and Little Nate Robinson (12 points in 17 minutes) took over. The result was a 36-point explosion in the fourth for the Celtics and a series tied at 2-2. Now the Finals head into a very pivotal Game 5. It’s safe to say that the winner of Game 5 is very likely to win the championship. Get your popcorn ready for Saturday night. Oh and don’t forget a bib. Post from: EveryJoe |
Posted: 10 Jun 2010 08:07 PM PDT USC has been a powerhouse in college football over the last decade. After the way the NCAA curbstomped USC with disciplinary action, you can safely say USC’s domination is on hold. After the long investigation on Reggie Bush receiving improper benefits, the NCAA decided to make an example out of USC. Prior to this curbstomping, almost every critic believed that the NCAA wouldn’t be too tough on USC. Those critics, it’s safe to say, were wrong. ![]() Image: WENN.com Now it makes sense why Pete Carroll left USC for the Seattle Seahawks. He got out while the gettin’ was good. Can’t blame him. Where does USC go from here? They’ll basically be a lame duck program for a few years. And with a number of quality teams likely moving into the Pac-10, including rival Texas, now is not a good time to show weakness. However, thanks to Reggie Bush and the blind-eye turned by the school, USC will undoubtedly be tasting their own blood for a while. Post from: EveryJoe |
Student Nods Off During Obama's Speech Posted: 10 Jun 2010 05:54 PM PDT Sure the President can get a little boring. But you’d think that if you were standing right behind him, you’d at least be able to keep your eyes open…or maybe not. At Kalamazoo Central High School during President Obama’s commencement address on Monday night, a boy yawns and yawns, then eventually nods off. Obama’s speech was actually the prize in the Race to the Top Commencement Challenge. Following the (boring?) speech, Obama handed out the diplomas and gave a few hugs to the 280 graduates of the school. I’m not sure this is how the sleepy student’s parents would want to remember his graduation night. Oh well, maybe Daniel Tosh can offer him a web redemption. Post from: EveryJoe |
