And though some of them are obvious (elementary education and social work), you might be surprised at a few of the others. You may think that, because diet and nutrition is such a hot topic, nutritionists would in demand. However, the average starting salary is just $41,700. The Huffington Post looked at the worst degrees, but also check out the best undergrad college degrees by salary. Posted: 07 May 2010 08:45 PM PDT According to The Hollywood Reporter, Iron Man 2 earned an estimated $7.5 million from its 12:01 a.m. Friday screenings. The comic book-inspired action flick was viewed at more than 2,500 locations for the midnight showing, and opens nationwide this weekend. The film, starring Robert Downey, Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow, is expected to make as much as $140 million through Sunday. This is the first Marvel movie since Disney bought the company last year. Iron Man 2 also features Scarlett Johansson, Mickey Rourke, Don Cheadle and Samuel L. Jackson. Post from: EveryJoe |
Posted: 07 May 2010 08:29 PM PDT A TSA worker in Miami, Rolando Negrin, was arrested for aggravated battery after police say he attacked a co-worker who had made fun of the size of his manhood. Negrin and his colleagues were training on the new body image machines when he walked through one of the new high-tech scanners during a recent training session at Miami International Airport. ![]() Miami-Dade Police After stepping into the machine, Negrin became embarrassed and upset when a supervisor started cracking jokes about the small size of his genitalia, made visible by the machine. According to the police report, Negrin confronted his co-worker, Hugo Osorno, in an employee parking lot on Tuesday, hitting him with a police baton on the arm and back. Negrin reportedly told victim to kneel down and apologize. Osorno suffered bruises and abrasions during the attack. Upon arriving at work the next day, Negrin was arrested. Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade and Kevin Durant filled out the team. This was Oklahoma City Thunder star Durant’s first selection. On the season, he was the youngest player to lead the league in scoring with 30.1 ppg. ![]() Image: Zuma Press Bryant was selected All-NBA for the fifth straight season and eighth time in his career. MVP James was named to the first team for the third straight season and fourth time overall. The second team consists of Steve Nash, Deron Williams, Carmelo Anthony, Dirk Nowitzki and Amar’e Stoudemire, while the third team is comprised of Joe Johnson, Brandon Roy, Tim Duncan, Pau Gasol and Andrew Bogut. Lawrence Taylor Charged with Rape Posted: 06 May 2010 08:55 PM PDT Lawrence Taylor, the New York Giants legend, was charged with raping a 16-year-old girl on Thursday. The 51-year-old Pro Football Hall of Famer reportedly had sex with the girl at a Holiday Inn for $300. According to police, the girl was forced into prostitution by another man, Rasheed Davis, after she ran away from home. Officially, Taylor has been charged with patronizing a prostitute in addition to third-degree rape. He was arrested at the Holiday Inn at 4 a.am in the morning and was later released on $75,000 bail. Davis was arrested and charged with assault, unlawful imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a child. He previously served 14 years in jail for manslaughter. Arthur Aidala, Taylor’s attorney, insists that his client didn’t rape the girl. Said Aidala: “My client did not have sex with anybody. Lawrence Taylor did not rape anybody.” While Taylor was being mobbed by the media, his only response was: “I’m not that important.” The police were alerted to the matter by the girl’s uncle. Around the time of the alleged incident, the girl sent text messages to her uncle. The uncle then called the NYPD. Taylor has had many brushes with the law, however none that were this serious. Over the last decade, he has for the most part kept his name out of the police blotter. Given Lawrence Taylor’s fame, this case is sure to be high profile. Additionally there will be one wildcard winner from an online competition at Harrahs.com who will fly to Atlantic City in a private jet provided by XOJET.
