Magic and Lakers Get Their Sweep On

Posted: 10 May 2010 08:55 PM PDT

The second round of the playoffs has been the round of the sweep. First the Phoenix Suns swept the San Antonio Spurs. Tonight, the Orlando Magic finished their sweep of the Atlanta Hawks and the Los Angeles Lakers did the same to the Utah Jazz.

The Magic, who dominated the Hawks in each of the four games, won by a final score of 98-84. Vince Carter led the way with 22 points, four rebounds and three assists, while shooting 7-for-12 from the field and 4-for-7 from beyond the three point arc. Dwight Howard chipped in with 13 points, eight rebounds and four blocked shots.

Up 3-0 against the Jazz, the Lakers were up by 17 points at halftime and easily waltzed to a 111-96 victory. Pau Gasol and Kobe Bryant were the stars for L.A. Gasol had 33 points, 14 rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots, while Bryant totaled 32 points, four assists and three rebounds.

The winner of the series between the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers will play the Magic. In the Western Conference Finals, the Lakers will host the Suns.

Tiger Woods’ Coach Hank Haney Resigns

Posted: 10 May 2010 08:55 PM PDT

Tiger Woods keeps seeing his life change. First his world was turned upside down after a sex scandal. Now, he’s facing another issue: Hank Haney has resigned. Haney was Tiger Woods’ swing coach.

Haney resignation was his own doing and he announced the decision on his website. In a blog entry, Haney had good things to say about Tiger.

Said Haney: “Tiger has been just an incredible performer in golf and he has achieved great success throughout his career. First with his father Earl, and then with Butch Harmon as his coach, followed by me, I know Tiger Woods will be successful in the future no matter who helps him. He is an incredible athlete with an incredible work ethic.”

Haney also didn’t ignore the elephant in the room that is Tiger Woods’ sex scandal.

“As we all know,” said Haney, “Tiger has been through a lot in the last six months, and I really believe that given the chance, mind free and injury free, we will all see Tiger Woods play once again like we all know he can.

“I wish Tiger well, not only with his golf, but in finding peace and happiness in all aspects of his life.”

J-WOWW at the Beach

Jenni “J-WOWW” Farley sometimes looks incredibly hot — and other times, so nasty. On the beach in Miami recently, she was looking pretty damn good. J-WOWW and the rest of the Jersey Shore cast members were enjoying the afternoon on the sand. They are currently in Miami filming season 2 of the show.

J-WOWW is reportedly now engaged to boyfriend Tom Lippolis. Season 2 of the series premieres this summer, July 29 on MTV.
