Celtics Dominate Cavs to Take Series Lead

Posted: 11 May 2010 08:48 PM PDT

Have we seen LeBron James play his last game in Cleveland? If so, it was a downright ugly farewell. The Boston Celtics dominated LeBron and his Cleveland Cavaliers 120-88 in Game 5 on Tuesday night to take a 3-2 series lead. As “The King” walked off the court, his team was down 27 points and you couldn’t help but notice the boos and empty seats.

Ray Allen led the way for Boston with 25 points, while Paul Pierce chipped in 21. Kevin Garnett scored 18 for the Celtics and Rajon Rondo had 16 — all in the second half. The loss was the worst home playoff loss in Cavaliers’ history and now Cleveland is on the brink of elimination.

James was horrible — he shot 3-for-14 from the field and scored just 15 points. Sprained elbow or not, the Cavs will need more from LeBron on Thursday night in Game 6.

Strengthening Your Back

Posted: 11 May 2010 08:05 PM PDT

Strengthening your back can help you prevent muscle pain and back ailments. The biggest cause of back pain is muscle strain combined with the natural spinal degeneration that occurs as we age. One way to keep your back strong is to reduce the strain placed on your back by lifting correctly, losing excess weight, and making sure to never contort your spine unnecessarily, such as by sitting for long periods of time or sleeping on a bad mattress.

There are a few simple exercises to strengthen the spine. Maintaining the "up" part of the push-up for as long as possible, while making sure to keep the spine straight, is a great way to keep the spine strong. Yoga is another fantastic way to keep the back strong because many of the poses work the muscles in the lower back in order to strengthen them against strains.

Cardiovascular exercise is also an important thing to work into any lifestyle, let alone one that is trying to keep the back strong. Studies have shown that properly conditioning the body goes a long way to warding pain and keeping every part of the body in working order, so making sure to exercise well is a key priority.

Check out these exercises to help strengthen your back and relieve back pain.
