She can even sing in Arabic. Shakira has been on the music scene since the 1990s and has won two Grammy Awards, along with numerous other accolades. Shakira, born Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, has sold over 50 million albums worldwide. Her latest album She Wolf was released in 2009, and she will embark on tour as well as release a Spanish album in 2010. | Is Half Your Hard Drive Taken by WINSXS Posted: 03 Feb 2010 08:52 PM PST I came across an issue today with a computer that I hadn’t been familiar with up until this point. I know a common complaint from Microsoft users is that the PC’s hard drive seems to mysteriously fill up with files.
My boss’s computer seems to sucking all of space and time into a folder named "WinSxS". Currently the folder is at 20GB of space I think. That’s almost half the entire size of the hard drive. After doing a quick search online about what might be causing this WinSxS issue, it seems to be a fairly common problem. The kicker is that there doesn’t seem to be any real solution to the problem. What I’m not sure about is if it really started with Vista or not. My boss is running Windows Vista Business, the web search results say people are experiencing it with their Windows 7 machines too. I’m running Windows XP Professional still, and my folder is less than 1GB in size. Do you keep running out of hard drive space? Go take a look at this folder and see what size it’s consuming on your drive. Let me know what you find and what steps you’ve tried to take to resolve the issue if anything. Boxing’s biggest superstar (and six-time, undefeated world champion) Floyd “Money” Mayweather made his upcoming fight with welterweight mega-star and five-time world champion “Sugar” Shane Mosley official today when he signed the contract that pits the two fighters against each other for a 12-round battle on Saturday, May 1 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The bout will, of course, be televised live on HBO Pay-Per-View. But it is going to draw a ton of attention because these are two of the biggest names in boxing—and both future Hall of Famers. Floyd is 40-0 with 25 KOs. Shane is 46-5 with 39 KOs. These are two outstanding fighters. And this has the makings of a classic battle. Floyd’s record speaks for itself. He’s at the pinnacle of his career, having unretired to fight (and beat) Juan Manuel Marquez back in September 2009. Shane just seems to be getting better with age. At 38-years-old, he has won seven of his past eight fights dating back to 2005, defeating the likes of Fernando Vargas (twice), Luis Collazo, Ricardo Mayorga, and Antonio Margarito. | Virgin Racing About to Unveil VR-01 Posted: 03 Feb 2010 06:52 PM PST Virgin Racing team is preparing for their first full year competing on the Formula One circuit and they can expect it to be a fun, exciting, yet tough year. The first year is normally a tough adventure for new teams and we don’t expect things to be different for Virgin Racing. Virgin Racing will have three other new teams on the grid, which should lessen the stress, somewhat, but the idea is still to win, even in your first year. Add to this the fact that Virgin Racing is owned by a gentlemen who is use to success and the pressure will be on to perform for the team, even though it’s their first year.  Lord Branson is a man who expects success Virgin Racing has kept the wraps on its car, the Cosworth-powered VR-01, which a beast of a different sort, than the other cars on the track. This is because the Virgin Racing offering was designed entirely in the digital realm using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics). Expectations were that Virgin Racing would be letting the world have a first look at the VR-01 on their website and they’re as good as their word. You can take a look at the new Virgin Racing race car at their website. The car is all black and white, but has a sleek look that makes me think of the space-age and the possibilities that pop into my head when I think of the future of Formula One. The VR-01 is scheduled to be rolled out onto the track at Silverstone on Thursday to begin a two-day testing of the race car. This is going to be an interesting affair, that I will definitely be paying attention to, so we’ll get back to you on the results of the first test of Virgin Racing’s VR-01. The first test will certainly have its problems, Formula One race cars are finely tuned space-age machines that have to be perfectly balanced and set up in order to perform at their best and it will take awhile for the engineers to get the car up to speed. Still, I expect the Virgin Racing offering to be highly competitive, even in its first year, despite any problems that crop up at the first testing of this Cosworth-powered beast. It was a tight schedule that the Virgin Racing team went through from an idea that has merit to the first test of the VR-01. The team and director, Nick Wirth, from done an excellent job getting the team and car built in time, now we’ll just have to see how the car looks. Nick has an extensive Formula One resume and has worked with some of the finest engineers and team members in the business, so this should be old hat for Nick. | Men Get Trimmer Waist if They Drink Tea Posted: 03 Feb 2010 04:25 PM PST Tea-drinking men have an advantage over women who drink tea, say researchers. They have found that men who drink two or more cups of tea per day are slimmer around the waist – have less abdominal fat – than their male counterparts who don’t drink tea.
Because of the health risks involved in carrying around a larger waistline, researchers are trying to zero in on ways to target the visceral fat. In this study, which according to WebMD was presented at the First National Congress on Abdominal Obesity, researchers looked at 3,823 adults who drank either coffee or tea, and they also analyzed the use of milk, sugar or artificial sweeteners in the drinks. The researchers found that drinking tea did nothing for women in terms of lessening their waist size, but there was an actual increase of an average of one inch if they used artificial sweetener. If they used milk in their tea, they lost about an average of two-thirds of an inch. A difference was found in men, however, and there was even a difference between how they sweetened their tea. Men who used sugar noticed a decrease of an average of one inch around the waist, but this doubled if the men used artificial sweetener. The Cleveland Cavaliers have been bending over backwards, trying to appease the “King” in hopes that he will sign a contract extension at the end of the 2009-2010 NBA season instead of becoming a free agent. According to CBS Sports, the Cavs are interested in acquiring Antawn Jamison from the Washington Wizards not so much because of his talent, but simply because that’s what James wants.  LeBron James wants to play with Antawn Jamison, not against him. Jamison is an exceptional basketball player, and he deserves to play for a team that can actually benefit from his presence on the court. The Wizards aren’t going anywhere for a long time. Moving to the Cavs would be beneficial for both Jamison and James. But the Cavs shouldn’t fool themselves into thinking that they can keep James content by granting all of his wishes. He’s going to go where he wants to go, NBA championship or not. And adding Jamison, or any player for that matter, to the roster isn’t going to make any difference. | Paul Pierce Broken Foot? False Rumor Posted: 02 Feb 2010 08:55 PM PST If you are a fan of the Boston Celtics, Tuesday was stressful. Reports from NBA.com early in the day claimed that superstar forward Paul Pierce may have broken his foot. Such an injury could have forced Pierce to miss the rest of the regular season. However, this story had a happy ending. The Celtics said that further tests showed that Pierce only had a strained foot and is listed as day-to-day. In fact, he hasn’t even been ruled out of Wednesday’s game against the Miami Heat. Considering the drastic different between and strain and a fracture, Celtics fans were likely dancing in the streets following the official news. On the season, Pierce is averaging 18.9 opints, 4.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists. He’s shooting 47.5% from the floor, 46.7% on three-pointers and 85.9% at the line. While he’s averaging the fewest points since his rookie campaign, Pierce remains a vital pierce of Boston’s puzzle — arguably he’s the team’s best player. The Celtics can’t afford Pierce to miss too much action. They are already seven games behind the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference standings.
