| Posted: 22 Jan 2010 09:16 PM PST The warm weather will be here before you know it, and you’ll be looking for refreshing cocktails for outdoor get-togethers this spring. This recipe from Watermelon-Tequila Cocktails is from Bobby Flay. Using watermelon, silver tequila and blueberries, this drink is fresh, cool and tasty.  Image: sxc.hu Makes 8 Drinks Ingredients:
Directions: 1. In a small saucepan, bring the water to a simmer with the sugar and stir over moderate heat until the sugar is dissolved, about 1 minute; let the sugar syrup cool. 2. In a blender, puree the watermelon until smooth. Set a fine-mesh strainer over a bowl and strain the watermelon juice, pressing gently on the solids to extract as much juice as possible. Discard the pulp. 3. In a large pitcher, combine the sugar syrup with the lime juice, blueberries and mint leaves. Using a wooden spoon, lightly muddle the blueberries and mint. Add the watermelon juice and tequila. Refrigerate until chilled, about 2 hours. 4. Pour the cocktail into tall ice-filled glasses. Garnish with the mint sprigs and serve. Post from: EveryJoe |
| Posted: 22 Jan 2010 09:05 PM PST The Nintendo Wii is not known for its shooting games but there are are some in existence. Games like Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games have shooting components so I could see how it might be fun to have the Wii Sniper Rifle Gun.
It's kind of cool because it disassembles for easy storage but it also mimics having to put together a rifle in real life. Unlike many of the Wii accessories, the rifle is an authentic size but it's white so it can't be mistaken for an actual weapon. It seems like it's easy to use, it has the sniper scope and front barrel stand and it's lightweight. | Omarion Replacing Shane Sparks on “Dance Crew” Posted: 22 Jan 2010 08:45 PM PST It was recently revealed that America's Best Dance Crew was looking for a third judge to replace choreographer and former dancer Shane Sparks. Shane was arrested in December on eight counts of child molestation and obviously will not be on ABDC. Now, it is being reported that recording artist and actor Omarion will be replacing Shane Sparks on the fifth season of the show to judge alongside Lil Mama and JC Chasez.
Other people rumored to be taking the spot were Missy Elliott, Ne-Yo and the director of Step Up 2, John Chu. The season five premiere will air on January 28th at 10 pm on MTV. This whole ordeal with Shane Sparks is just shocking. Who would have known? Anyways, at least Omarion's got some background with dancing. I'm sure he'll do a good job! This week, Kia released a teaser illustration of the vehicle. Though you can’t tell much from the rendering sketch, it’s obvious that Kia has selected a sporty bodystyle. | “The Hurt Locker” on DVD and Blu-ray Posted: 22 Jan 2010 08:12 PM PST Now out on DVD and Blu-ray is the highly acclaimed film, The Hurt Locker. The film was nominated for three Golden Globe awards (Best Motion Picture Drama, Best Director and The film follows the lives of an American Explosive Ordnance Disposal team who have been sent to Iraq. They are met with uncertainty in a city where everybody and everything could be a threat to their lives. It stars Jeremy Renner as Sgt. William James and Anthony Mackie as Sgt. JT Sanborn. The film tied with James Cameron's Avatar at the 2010 British Academy of Film and Television Awards with eight nominations. The English singer is part of the pop group Girls Aloud, which has amassed a fortune over $25 million. The group rose to fame through the UK reality show Popstars: The Rivals several years back and have continued their success. | The Big Game is the Only One That Counts Posted: 22 Jan 2010 07:26 AM PST I’ve long believed that the only thing that counts in football is wins. Not super fancy wins, and not even convincing wins. Just wins. Years afterward, no one looks back and says, “yeah, they won these many games, but they were ugly wins.” They were wins. Period.
To that end, winning the Super Bowl is the ultimate goal, and this year that fact has been underscored. After all, perfect seasons don’t mean much without a Super Bowl trophy (just ask the Patriots.) This year we had an interesting circumstance with teams using the mail-it-in-strategy and sitting out their starters in favor of keeping everyone healthy for the playoffs. This strategy worked for most of the teams using it, and it also highlighted the fact that the record books don’t mean much without that trophy. It brought to light once again that the only thing that counts is a win in the Super Bowl. Close, as my grandfather used to say, only counts in horseshoes. | Record Attempt: Painting Car with Nail Polish Posted: 22 Jan 2010 02:45 AM PST Some people really want to make it into the record books. Apparently British man, David Sheath is one of those people. Sheath is making a Guinness World Record attempt by hand-painting his entire car (Fiat 500) in pink nail polish. His progress is being streamed live on the internet at www.pinkmyride.tv. The tedious project is expected to take at least a week, taking over 240,000 strokes of polish. Sheath is also communicating his viewers through Twitter.  Image: PA Photowire Sheath is living and sleeping inside a specially set-up challenge room in a studio in South London until the job is finished (or until he quits). The room has a TV, bed, rug and toilet. Sheath said: “I broke up with my girlfriend and thought this would be a great way to get through it.
