Kenyon Martin Popcorn Prank Gone Bad Posted: 03 Apr 2010 01:57 PM PDT Next year, it’d be a good idea to leave Kenyon Martin alone on April Fool’s Day. The Denver Nuggets forward almost went postal after an April Fool’s Day prank went sour. During the Nuggets game on April Fool’s Day against the Portland Trail Blazers, someone got Martin’s keys to his Range Rover. The prankster filled Martin’s car with buttered popcorn — despite the fact that the Range Rover had white interior. After the game when Martin found his Range Rover filled with popcorn, he didn’t laugh. Far from it. Reportedly Martin had this to say while storming in and out of the locker room: “That ain’t no fucking joke. I’m going to find out who did it … put my fucking hands on one of y’all. I’m going to put my hands on whoever did it. You better believe that. It’s fucking personal. You better believe it.” Amazingly Martin, who has missed the last 15 games due to a knee injury, threatened to sit out the playoffs if the perpetrator didn’t reveal himself. Said Martin: “How ’bout if I don’t play in the playoffs until somebody tells me who did it.” As it turns out, the April Fool’s Day prankster turned out to be a former ballboy by the name of Laquan Johnson. Johnson is now the personal driver for J.R Smith. (Smith lost his ability to drive after killing a friend in a traffic accident … but that’s a whole different story.) All in all, this is just another twist in what has become the unraveling of the Denver Nuggets’ 2010 NBA season. With head coach George Karl battling throat cancer and the players melting down one by one, this does not appear to be the year that the Nuggets win their first NBA championship. In fact, it doesn’t appear that the Nuggets will make it out of the first round of the playoffs. Post from: EveryJoe Kenyon Martin Popcorn Prank Gone Bad |
Chick of the Day: Alexa Davalos Posted: 03 Apr 2010 12:11 PM PDT Actress Alexa Davalos was born in France to American parents. Her mother was an actress and her father a photographer. Alexa appeared as the love interest of Daniel Craig in Defiance in 2008. Currently, she can be seen as Andromeda in the re-make of Clash of the Titans. Morgan Stanley Suffers $1B Loss Posted: 02 Apr 2010 09:58 PM PDT A troubled Atlantic City casino project will result in an estimated $1 billion loss for investment giant Morgan Stanley, the latest dud in the firm's property investments. Although Morgan Stanley had high hopes for Revel Entertainment's 47-story casino and hotel, it is now in talks to sell its majority stake. ![]() Image: istockphoto Morgan Stanley has stated in a regulatory filing that the sale will result in a "substantial loss" on the investment, the exact total of which will be recognized in its first-quarter results due later this month. The initial investment totaled $1.2 billion. Revel's ambitious project was originally financed by Morgan Stanley, but when it lost external funding due to the credit crunch, Morgan Stanley was forced to go from creditor to investor by buying a majority stake. The injection of new funds caused by the sale is expected to go toward finishing the hotel, whose exterior has already been built. Post from: EveryJoe Morgan Stanley Suffers $1B Loss |
Posted: 02 Apr 2010 09:55 PM PDT Thursday marked the last day of operations at California's NUMMI plant, the product of a joint venture between General Motors and Toyota that produced 8 million vehicles throughout its lifespan. This means that 4,700 workers are out of a job and will have to pursue employment in a sluggish economy. ![]() Image: Nummi.com The move comes a year after General Motors pulled out of the plant in order to streamline its assets as part of its bankruptcy filing. Toyota had vowed at one point that it would not cut back any of its operations in the United States, but that was before Toyota's latest recalls brought on a slew of bad publicity for the Japanese automaker. As for the NUMMI compound itself, its future remains uncertain. Aurica Motors, an upstart electric vehicle manufacturer, has expressed interest in the facility, hoping to secure money from the federal stimulus package to begin producing electric vehicles. However, many auto industry experts do not foresee Aurica's acquisition of the plant. Post from: EveryJoe |
