| Tiger Woods Divorce – Marriage Indeed Over Posted: 14 Apr 2010 12:05 PM PDT Tiger Woods had a successful return to the golf course — finishing in fourth place in the Masters and taking home a prize of more than $300,000. However, Tiger isn’t having much success in his personal life. In fact, a report by ETonline.com indicates that the Tiger Woods divorce will happen. “It was believed by going to sex rehab that Tiger had done just enough to keep his family together,” said Kevin Frazier on ETonline.com. “But sources have told me that the marriage is indeed over.” Ever since the Tiger Wood sex scandal hit the news, Elin Nordegren has reportedly been leaning toward divorce. Tiger Woods has attempted to save his marriage but Elin is said to just want to move on. Tiger Woods has a lot riding on his marriage. If he can save his marriage and regain his status on the golf course, he could see sponsors return in droves. However, if the Tiger Woods divorce becomes final, that will forever tarnish his image. | Video: Jerry Jones Blasts Tim Tebow Posted: 14 Apr 2010 11:52 AM PDT Although he probably won’t be selected in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft, Tim Tebow is undoubtedly the biggest name and the player who will be talked about the most. Who will draft Tim Tebow? You can scratch the Dallas Cowboys off the list. See below for the Jerry Jones video on Tim Tebow. In the video, Jones says that Tim Tebow wouldn’t see the field for the Cowboys. While that’s not too surprising of an opinion from the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, it could give a glimpse into what a lot of owners are thinking. Though Tebow had a fantastic college career, he doesn’t exactly fit the NFL game. Tim Tebow wants to be a quarterback but it’s doubtful that he has the arm to have success as a pro. Unless he can release the ball quicker, make better reads and add arm strength, Tebow may eventually have to switch positions. Or, like Jerry Jones said, Tim Tebow won’t get on the field. | Dolphins Make Mistake with Brandon Marshall Posted: 14 Apr 2010 11:44 AM PDT Brandon Marshall is one of the most talented players in the NFL. Going back to his college days, Marshall’s ability on the football field has never been in doubt. That said, Marshall is simply a bad human being. The Miami Dolphins apparently don’t care. On Wednesday, the Dolphins traded a pair of second round picks to the Denver Broncos for Marshall. Following the trade, the Dolphins signed Marshall to a $47.5 million contract over four seasons — making him the highest paid wide receiver in the game. There’s no doubt that the Dolphins needed help at wide receiver. There’s also no doubt that Marshall has the ability to help. But Marshall just wasn’t worth what the Dolphins paid. Two second round picks and $47.5 million for a guy with a laundry list of off the field issues. In 2004, he was arrested for assault on an officer, resisting an officer and disorderly conduct. In 2007, Marshall was involved in the incident that led to the shooting death of teammate Darrent Williams. Later in the year, he was arrested for suspicion of domestic violence and then for a DUI a couple of months later. All in all, Marshall literally has about a dozen incidents where he collided with the law. Is that a guy to invest in? I simply don’t think so. The risk is greater than the reward. | Why the Thunder Can Upset the Lakers Posted: 13 Apr 2010 08:55 PM PDT The one 2010 NBA playoff matchup in the Western Conference that’s set has the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers taking on the up-and-coming Oklahoma City Thunder. Everyone will pick the Lakers to defeat the Thunder and move on to the second round. However, I think that the Thunder actually have a good chance of upsetting the Lakers. First of all, the Lakers simply aren’t the Lakers right now. Kobe Bryant has played only three games in April and is has hit just 21-of-70 field goal attempts. On top of Kobe’s woes, center Andrew Bynum isn’t healthy. Without Kobe at 100% and Bynum in the middle, the Lakers are vulnerable. As for the Thunder, they have some very good pieces. Kevin Durant is an MVP favorite and his ability to score is probably even better than Kobe’s ability to score. Thabo Sefolosha is a quality defender who should be able to defend Kobe rather well. Russell Westbrook is a scoring point guard who can attack Derek Fisher, while Jeff Green matched up well against Lamar Odom. For L.A. to avoid the upset, they’ll need Pau Gasol to play a huge role. He is better than any bigman the Thunder can throw at him. He needs to control his matchup … if not, the Thunder could very well shock the world. | Ben Roethlisberger Suspension Upcoming Posted: 13 Apr 2010 08:55 PM PDT Ben Roethlisberger is going to be suspended. The question is the length of the suspension. The star quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers found himself in the middle of another offseason controversy when a college student in Georgia accused him of rape. Even though the DA decided not to press charges due to a lack of evidence, that doesn’t mean Roethlisberger will or should get off without any sort of punishment from the NFL — especially since he’s a repeat offender. This is the same guy who is being sued for sexual assault and who also almost got killed in a motorcycle accident. The NFL and the Steelers may work hand in hand when giving Roethlisberger the suspension. The Steelers are very upset with the quarterback and want to send a strong message both to Roethlisberger and Steelers fans. The Steelers recently proved that they are actively cleaning up their image when they shipped talented yet troubled wide receiver Santonio Holmes to the New York Jets for a fifth rounder. My guess is that Roethlisberger will be handed a four-game suspension. That suspension will serve as a stern notice while also not totally destroying the hopes of the Steelers in the 2010 NFL season. | Video: Rasheed Wallace Scores for Bulls Posted: 13 Apr 2010 08:55 PM PDT Rasheed Wallace isn’t exactly the most well-liked member of the Boston Celtics — just look what Bill Simmons had to say about Sheed. Now, Celtics fans have more reason to dislike the combustible forward. With the Celtics fighting for playoff positioning, Rasheed Wallace scored a basket for the Bulls to propel Chicago to victory. You can see the Rasheed Wallace video below and see him score for the wrong team. The Bulls, with help from Wallace, went on to win by a final score of 101-93. To go along with his two points for the Bulls, he had two points for the Celtics on 1-for-7 shooting from the floor. Derrick Rose also played well for the Bulls, chipping in 39 points, seven assists, five rebounds and three blocked shots. Just a couple of years ago, the Celtics were NBA champions. Now they don’t have a legit shot to make noise in the playoffs. with one game remaining, the Celtics are 50-31 and sit in the fourth slot in the Eastern Conference. They will likely play the Miami Heat in the opening round. Even if they do survive Round 1, the second round brings certain death with LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
