Spurs “Dogs” Bounce Back in Game 2 Posted: 21 Apr 2010 08:55 PM PDT After a Game 1 loss, San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said some players on his team played like “dogs”. In Game 2, those “dogs” came to play and bit the Dallas Mavericks. Dominating from the onset, the Spurs defeated the Mavs by a final score of 102-88. The Spurs were led by Tim Duncan, who played like the Hall of Famer he is down the stretch. At one point scoring eight straight, Duncan finished with 25 points, 17 rebounds and two assists. Manu Ginobili chipped in with 23 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals. Perhaps the biggest news for the Spurs was the play of lead “dog” Richard Jefferson. After playing horribly in Game 1, Jefferson had 19 points and seven rebounds in Game 2, including 17 in the decisive first half. For the Mavs, things didn’t go nearly as smoothly. Dirk Nowitzki, who was 12-for-14 in the first game, was 9-for-24 in Game 2. Seemingly the only player who played well for Dallas was Jason Terry, who scored 27 points off the bench. Game 3 will be played in San Antonio on Friday. Post from: EveryJoe Spurs “Dogs” Bounce Back in Game 2 |
