Haim Acquired Over 550 Pills Before His Death Posted: 06 Apr 2010 03:46 PM PDT Corey Haim had acquired over 550 prescription pills illegally through seven doctors within the three months preceding his death, according to the California attorney general. The prescriptions were for pills that included Valium and Soma. It doesn’t appear the the doctors will be charged as it seems they were tricked into writing the prescriptions. Twenty doctors were subpoenaed in the investigation. Haim, best known for his roles in Lucas, Lost Boys and Licensed to Drive, died on March 10 in his mother’s apartment in California. ![]() Corey Haim in Lucas (Image: Zuma Press) Post from: EveryJoe Haim Acquired Over 550 Pills Before His Death |

First run in 1875, the Kentucky Derby festivities ares full of tradition, from the women with large lavish hats to the mint julep — the traditional beverage of the race. The mint julep is an iced drink consisting of bourbon, mint and a sugar syrup. However, there are a number of variations available. This one from Maestro Dobel features tequila, agave syrup, ginger ale, and of course the mint. Triple Crown Julep Ingredients:
Method: Build cocktail in glass no need to shake, start with mint then add the Agave & tequila – stir and top with ginger ale. Served in a rocks glass with fresh mint leaves throughout the drink. Liquid should be a dark champagne hue. Post from: EveryJoe |
Posted: 06 Apr 2010 02:46 PM PDT The new Nissan commercial titled “Drift” showcases the Nissan Sentra SE-R. What makes this commercial a bit different is that an actual Sentra isn’t used in the ad — it’s a 1/10 scale model, an RC car. Created for Nissan Canada by TBWA based in Toronto, this commercial is pretty clever. Post from: EveryJoe |

Posted: 06 Apr 2010 01:56 PM PDT According to FOX Business, an oversight board has launched an investigation into the role of accounting firm Ernst & Young in Lehman Brothers’ bankruptcy. The investigation is taking place following a bankruptcy examiner’s report accusing the firm of “professional malpractice.” The SEC and well as UK regulators are also looking into Ernst & Young’s activities. Charles Perkins, a spokesman for the firm, denies any wrong doing on the part of the company. The oversight board’s investigation is preliminary and confidential. However if it decides to bring a case agains the firm, it would be the most high profile case since the board began bringing cases five years ago. Duke Spoils Magical Run by Butler Posted: 05 Apr 2010 08:55 PM PDT With the whole nation outside of the Cameron Crazies rooting for Butler, the NCAA basketball championship was literally good versus evil. Unfortunately, evil won when Gordon Hayward’s halfcourt heave bounced out to secure Duke’s 61-59 victory. Hayward had a couple chances to be a hero and slay the monster but both shots rimmed out. For the game, Hayward — the star of Butler’s squad — underperformed. He finished with 12 points and eight rebounds but made just 2-of-11 field goal attempts. As for Duke, they were able to win their fourth NCAA men’s basketball championship. Kyle Singler led the way with 19 points, nine rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots. Jon Scheyer chipped in with 15 points, six rebounds, five assists and two blocks, while Brian Zoubek had eight points, ten rebounds and two blocks. Yes, this was one of the best championship games we’ve ever seen in any March Madness. But with Duke prevailing over what would have been a story for the ages, the ending just wasn’t what it could have been. Post from: EveryJoe Duke Spoils Magical Run by Butler |
Video: Jason Heyward Homers in First At-Bat Posted: 05 Apr 2010 08:55 PM PDT It’s been a while since a hitter has reached the major league level with as much hype as Jason Heyward. The rookie phenom for the Atlanta Braves is a 20-year-old who is getting talked about all around the baseball world … and that was before Opening Day. In his first big league at-bat, Jason Heyward blasted a three-run homer off of Carlos Zambrano in the first inning. The crowd at Turner Field went crazy for the rookie who was born and grew up just down the road. You can see the Jason Heyward video below and watch how he made his debut one that will never be forgotten. “I felt my legs,” said Heyward, “but I couldn’t hear myself think, it was so loud.” As an encore, Heyward later hit an RBI-single in the eighth inning as the Braves crushed the Chicago Cubs by a final count of 16-5. Here’s the video of Jason Heyward hitting a homerun in his first time at the plate. Post from: EveryJoe Video: Jason Heyward Homers in First At-Bat |
