Trading Away Donovan McNabb a Mistake Posted: 04 Apr 2010 08:21 PM PDT The Philadelphia Eagles and their fans will soon learn that the grass isn’t always greener under the cleats of the backup quarterback. Donovan McNabb, who has been the franchise player in Philadelphia for a decade, was shipped away to the Washington Redskins for a pair of draft picks. Eagles fans are mostly happy now — but that elation will be short lived. I know that Kevin Kolb is considered the second coming of Joe Montana right now but he’s extremely unproven. He did decently well last year as a fill-in for McNabb but things will be different when the rest of the NFL applies the microscope. There will undoubtedly be growing pains. And, per usual, McNabb has taken more than his share of heat for the Eagles not being able to win a Super Bowl championship. While he’s not a great QB, he doesn’t make many mistakes and can burn you with his arm. There’s no doubt McNabb is good enough to be on a Super Bowl champion team — and that’s the main trait you want in your signal caller. With this trade, the Eagles have turned over their own division to the Redskins. Now with McNabb, the Redskins have an experienced QB to go with a stable of running back and a coach in Mike Shanahan who will figure out how to put it all together. Celebrate now, Philadelphia. It will be short lived. Post from: EveryJoe Trading Away Donovan McNabb a Mistake |

Toyota Sales Numbers Disappoint Posted: 04 Apr 2010 12:41 AM PDT In the wake of widespread scrutiny of Toyota's handling of its recent recalls of several models of vehicles encountering brake troubles, Toyota's latest sales figures have revealed that Toyota has lost a significant amount of market share. Although Toyota's sales figures themselves reflected growth, slipping market share means that Toyota could end up selling 200,000 less figures this year than last.
If Toyota's sales fall back to early 2010 levels after the incentives programs taper off, Toyota will need to find another way to boost sales in order to avoid a year that will turn out worse than last year. Image: Flickr Post from: EveryJoe Toyota Sales Numbers Disappoint |

Butler Heads to First National Title Game Posted: 03 Apr 2010 11:14 PM PDT The stage is set for a David vs Goliath national title game as the Butler Bulldogs edged the Michigan State Spartans 52-50 on Saturday, and Duke took care of business against West Virginia. Gordon Hayward led the Bulldogs with 19 points and nine boards, including a rebound to seal the game with two seconds left. Butler (33-4) will now take on the powerhouse Duke Blue Devils in Monday night’s championship game in Indianapolis. ![]() Gordon Hayward - Butler (Image: Zuma Press) As usual, it was all about defense for the Bulldogs. Butler became the fourth team in NCAA tournament history to hold its first five opponents in the tourney to under 60 points. Butler shot only 31% from the field, but had 12 steals and forced Michigan State into 16 turnovers. With the victory on Saturday, Butler extending the nation’s best winning streak to 25. Now they just need one more on Monday. Duke Dominates West Virginia On Saturday, Duke dominated West Virginia 78-57 to advance to their first national title game since 2001. Led by Jon Scheyer’s 23 points, the Blue Devils (34-5) were the only No. 1 seed in the Final Four. Scheyer had a lot of help from his teammates – Kyle Singler scored 21 points for the Duke while Nolan Smith tallied 19 points and six assists. On the night, Duke shot 52.7% from the field. West Virginia star Da’Sean Butler went down with a knee injury with 8:59 left in the game, squashing any hopes of a Mountaineer comeback.
