Pistons’ Stuckey Collapses on Bench Posted: 05 Mar 2010 08:10 PM PST Detroit Pistons guard Rodney Stuckey collapsed on the bench during the game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday. Stuckey was said to be conscious and breathing on his own as he was transported to the Cleveland Clinic for testing and observations. The 23-year-old was taken off the court on a stretcher during the third quarter. He seemed fine as he walked off the floor for a timeout, but a few moments later slumped over in a chair. The game was halted for approximately 12 minutes as medical personnel worked on Stuckey. He apparently suffered a seizure, though it is not known at this time what caused it. Stuckey is currently listed in stable condition. ![]() Image: Zuma Press Post from: EveryJoe Pistons’ Stuckey Collapses on Bench |

Charge your cell phone with water (really!) Posted: 05 Mar 2010 04:40 AM PST A Swedish electronics company called myFC has just released a handheld fuel cell made for recharging portable devices. No power outlet required. All you need is water. You say you want a revolution? This might just be it. In this attractive little package is all the power you need to charge your cell phone, MP3 player, or anything else, on the go. The H3 Series Charger comes with a micro USB connector (and a USB-A adapter), and a flashlight to make hooking up your favorite device to the charger a snap. And it’s supposed to be able to provide at least 1,000 charges over its lifetime. Can you imagine it? Clean, safe electricity created out of water! The device utilizes myFC’s proprietary single-use fuel packets to convert water into electricity, through a chemical reaction that creates hydrogen. You just put one or more fuel packets and pour in water up the H3 to a preset fill line. The only bi-product it creates is water vapor. A used-up fuel packet can be safely disposed, causing zero impact to the environment. It’s a perfectly clean technology. Fuel cells have been around for a while now, but the H3 marks the first time the power they provide is being made available in such a small form. If you’re out in the wild, just insert a packet and pour in some water, and it starts charging your smartphone or other device immediately. It has a durable housing that’s made to withstand extreme outdoor conditions. Currently the H3 is available only in Scandinavia, but it’s expected to hit the U.S. and other worldwide markets in 2011. Posted: 04 Mar 2010 10:31 PM PST Have you ever suspected someone of steroid use? It’s always good to give a dedicated weight lifter the benefit of the doubt, but sometimes their longing for more leads them into performance enhancers. If you’re curious as to whether someone is taking steroids, here are some characteristics to look for:
Beware that not no single or multiple symptom(s) of steroid use are proof of steroid use. For example, thinning hair is also a symptom but many men experience this naturally. Also, a bad mood can easily be caused by something else outside of drug use. Spotting the steroid user isn’t always as easy as picking out a guy like Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mark McGwire, Barry Bonds, or Lou Ferrigno in their heyday. If you really need/want to find out, try to get in that person’s workout routine. I hesitate to say go by the huge results because sometimes there really are freaks of nature in the gym who get the job done without the juice. Real interesting interview from a fitness model who was fired after his steroid use became known: Post from: EveryJoe |
Michael Finley Picks the Boston Celtics Posted: 04 Mar 2010 08:55 PM PST Michael Finley asked the San Antonio Spurs to release him earlier this week. On Thursday, Finley picked his new team: the Boston Celtics. Finley gives the Celtics another veteran who can spread defenses by hitting shots from the perimeter. The soon to be 37-year-old was having a poor season for the Spurs prior to his release. In 25 games, he was averaging 3.7 points in 15.8 minutes per game, while shooting 38.1% from the field and 31.7% on three-pointers. Finley began the season as a starter for San Antonio. However, he missed a huge chunk of the season due to an ankle injury. With the Celtics, he’ll likely be the third string small forward behind Paul Pierce and Marquis Daniels. Due to all the injuries Boston has suffered this year, Finley will likely get a chance to help out at some point. Other than the Spurs and now the Celtics, Finley has also played for the Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks. Post from: EveryJoe Michael Finley Picks the Boston Celtics |
Jake Delhomme Released by Panthers Posted: 04 Mar 2010 08:55 PM PST Since 2003, Jake Delhomme has been a ficture at quarterback for the Carolina Panthers. However, those days are now over. The Panthers have decided to turn the page by releasing Delhomme and going with a new QB to lead the team. Releasing Delhomme comes with a price for the Panthers — $12.5 million to be exact. That said, it become obvious after his poor play last season that Carolina needs a new quarterback. In 11 games, he had 2,015 passing yards to go with eight touchdowns and 18 interceptions. To replace Delhomme, the Panthers will probably turn to Matt Moore. In seven games in 2009, Moore had 1,053 passing yards with eight touchdowns and two interceptions. To end the season, Moore was playing at a high level. Another option for the Panthers is to draft a quarterback in the 2010 NFL Draft. A number of quality QBs could drop to the second round.
