Posted: 25 Mar 2010 08:59 PM PDT

This year’s NCAA Men’s Basketball tourney continues to provide plenty of excitement. Kansas State’s Jacob Pullen hit two 3-pointers in double overtime to help seal a 101-96 victory for Kansas State over Xavier on Thursday night in the West Regional semifinals game. Both teams put everything they had out on the court in one of the most entertaining games of the March Madness tournament.

Things That Prevent You From Building Muscle

Posted: 25 Mar 2010 08:33 PM PDT

If you are trying to build muscle mass and not seeing significant progress, don’t give up. Though genetics are a factor, there may be some things that you are doing improperly that are preventing you from adding on the bulk.

Don’t Just Concentrate on One Area
Working more than just one group of muscles at a time will stimulate muscle growth hormones throughout your body. If you want bigger biceps, you can’t just work your biceps every day — mix things up.

Skip the Cardio
Unless you are trying to lose fat, you don’t need to overdo the cardio. Don’t spend hours on the treadmill – instead incorporate bits of cardiovascular exercise into your weight lifting routine for circuit training.

Stay Fueled Up
Though you may be tempted to skip meals, don’t do it. Several healthy meals and snacks throughout the day boost your metabolism, and provide the energy and fuel you need to build muscle.

As with any type of exercise, be sure to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. Stay diligent with your workout and you are sure to see some results in no time.
