Spurs Put Up 147 Points on Warriors

Posted: 19 Mar 2010 08:55 PM PDT

When you think of the San Antonio Spurs, you think of a slow, defensive style of basketball. On Friday night, the Spurs showed that they aren’t just a one-trick pony. In an up-and-down contest against the Golden State Warriors, the Spurs sprinted to a 147-116 victory.

In his previous game, Tim Duncan was 1-for-10 against the Orlando Magic. He bounced back against the Warriors — to say the least. In 14 minutes, Duncan had 17 points, six rebounds and five assists while hitting all eight of his field goal attempts. Manu Ginobili, who has moved into the starting lineup with Tony Parker out injured, had 23 points and 11 assists in 22 minutes. All told, the Spurs had eight players in double-figures.

The Warriors were a two-man show. Monta Ellis had 39 points in 39 minutes and Corey Maggette had 30 points in 30 minutes. Due to injuries, the Warriors had only eight players in uniform. The Spurs got out to a 41-28 advantage after the first quarter and Golden State never made it a game again.

With the win, the Spurs are 41-26 and sit in the seventh slot in the Western Conference. The 19-49 Warriors have the third worst record in the NBA.

Get Paid to Lose Weight

Posted: 19 Mar 2010 08:06 PM PDT

A new program will actually pay you to lose weight. “Pounds for Pounds” is being offered by Slimming World. After 40 years of success in the UK, they recently began opening their groups in the US.

Basically it pays one pound for every British pound (about $1.50 USD) of weight that participants lose.

For three months, members weigh in at the beginning of their weekly group meetings and get paid for their weight loss with no catch. Short-term, this will cost Slimming World a lot of cash, but they hope the successful participants become “walking advertisements” for their plan.
