Movie Preview: Hot Tub Time Machine Posted: 15 Mar 2010 08:55 PM PDT While it won’t be taking home an Oscar anytime soon, “Hot Tub Time Machine” looks like a sophomoric yet fun flick. The comedy that revolves around the concept of a hot tub accidentally turning into a time machine will be released in the United States on March 26th. After partying it up in a hot tub at a ski resort, the men wake up to find that they’ve been transported to year 1986. At that point, they start brainstorming on what they should do. Should they avoid making a splash as to not disrupt the future? Should they take advantage of the situation? That’s when the fun ensues. The movie stars an impressive group of actors including John Cusack, Crystal Low, Lyndsy Fonseca, Chevy Chase, Clark Duke, Craig Robinson and Rob Corddry. The film is directed by Steve Pink, who previously directed the comedy “Accepted” — the 2006 movie about college rejects creating their own college. I’ll be sure to watch “Hot Tub Time Machine” for the easy laughs. If the trailer is any indication, this movie will at least keep us entertained. Who Will Start at QB for the Broncos? Posted: 15 Mar 2010 08:55 PM PDT Heading into March, Kyle Orton was seen as the undisputed starter for the Denver Broncos. But then the Broncos traded for Brady Quinn, formerly of the Cleveland Browns. Now there’s already a quarterback controversy in Denver. When asked about whether he wants to start at QB for the Broncos, Quinn didn’t back down. “I’ll put it this way,” said Quinn, “I think every quarterback on our roster wants to play. “We’re going to be team players first, but we all want to be out there playing.” In addition to Quinn and Orton, the Broncos also have Tom Brandstater on the roster. Chris Simms, who backed up Orton last season, was released on Monday. At this point, Orton has to be the favorite. He performed well last year and has a year of experience under his belt. However, there’s no question that Quinn is more talented and has the higher ceiling. If he plays well in preseason, the Broncos could have a real dilemma on their hands. Gilbert Arenas Okay with Punishment Posted: 15 Mar 2010 08:55 PM PDT Gilbert Arenas, he of the infamous NBA locker room gunfight, isn’t fighting his punishment of being suspended for the rest of the season. In fact, the All-Star guard for the Washington Wizards said he deserved it in an interview with Esquire. In the Esquire article, Arenas says that he’s especially disappointed because Abe Pollin, the late owner of the Wizards, was such an active participant in the anti-gun movement in Washington, D.C. Said Arenas: “I have a painting of him in my garage. I just walk by it with my head down. I called Mrs. Pollin and said, ‘If Abe was still with us, I would’ve had to talk to him, so I’m gonna give you the same respect. I want to say sorry to you. I deserve to be punished. I’ll do everything it takes to get back your husband’s respect.” In addition to being suspended from the NBA, Arenas plead guilty to charges that stemmed from the gun incident. Theoretically, the 28-year-old may have to do some jail time. Prior to everything falling apart for Arenas, he was averaging 22.6 points, 7.2 assists and 4.1 rebounds for the Wizards this season.
