Doctors Turn Fat Thighs Into Bigger Breasts

Posted: 23 Mar 2010 07:44 AM PDT

Could this revolutionize breast implant surgery? Doubt it. But women in the UK are having fat cells removed from their tummy and thighs through liposuction and then having the fat (mixed with other body cells) re-injected into their breasts. There’s no need for a surgeon’s knife and no “foreign” objects implanted in the body.

Harley Street surgeons, twins Dr Roberto and Dr Maurizio Viel, who are the first to offer the procedure in the UK, have reportedly successfully carried out the breast enhancement on 10 women with 10 more due to go under the needle this month.

The operation is carried out under local anesthetic and has a quick recovery time. Here are some before and after pictures:

I’m not sure there’s much difference other than the woman slumping forward in the “Before” picture.

This week, TikGames announced the release of its critter racing game Hamsterball for PlayStation3. The game is only $9.99 and will be available via download from the PlayStation Network as of Thursday, March 25. This is a game that everyone in the family will enjoy.

Basically how it works is players take control of a hamster-in-ball as they race through obstacles, dramatic drops and more. There are over 50 levels and three different game modes, so it’s non-stop hamster action. You can race solo, play split-screen against an opponent, or race up to six friends in “Sumo Mode.”

Players can discover tons of unlockables and earn PlayStation trophies throughout the game. "Hamsterball is one of those games that everyone will have a great time playing. It's inviting, humorous, fun and delivers edge-of-your seat action," said Anatoly Tikhman, CEO of TikGames.

If you are looking for a game with high-quality graphics or mind-boggling adventures, then this isn’t it. However, if you are looking for a family game that you can play with the kids, and get into yourself, Hamsterball is a fun option.

Keira Knightley has the face of an angel. With stunning eyes and soft features, she’s one of the celebs that doesn’t need to be overly made up. Though she’s often been criticized for her thin frame, if you like skinny girls, Keira Knightley is one of the hottest.

Pros and Cons of Diet Soda

Posted: 22 Mar 2010 08:55 PM PDT

A lot of people who are looking to lose weight are turning to diet soda. These low-calorie (or no-calorie) sodas offer good taste but in a form that meshes with just about every diet plan. But is diet soda good for you? Here are the pros and cons of diet soda.

Pros of Diet Soda

1. Keeps Away Unwanted Pounds
The average American drinks about 200 gallons of liquids per year. If a high percentage of that is sugar-filled sodas, that could add up to dozens of pounds of potential weight that will need to be burned off. Diet soda by itself is highly unlikely to make you gain weight.

2. Controls Sugar Levels
Regular soda is usually crammed with high fructose corn syrup or sugar. Not only will those substances make you gain weight, they also mess with your blood sugar levels. Artificial sweeteners, on the other hand, wont.

3. Growing Number of Options
The soda industry realizes that people want diet options. For that reason, you can find diet soda in just about every flavor and brand imaginable.

Cons of Diet Soda

1. Sweeteners Possibly Dangerous
Artificial sweeteners are very controversial. Some doctors swear that they are the cause of serious health problems. While the official word on artificial sweeteners is that they are harmless, do you want to take that risk?

2. Doesn’t Fill You Up
Studies show that diet soda isn’t very hydrating or filling. That means that even after you down a diet soda, you’ll likely want something else.

3. Replaces Healthier Beverages
Even if diet soda does nothing to harm you, it doesn’t do anything to help your health. There are other beverage options that are both healthy and nutritious.

Get Ready for More Brett Favre Drama

Posted: 22 Mar 2010 08:55 PM PDT

It’s that time of year again. Warmer weather is around the corner, everything feels fresher and Brett Favre is being a drama queen regarded whether he’s going to retire. Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress is hunkering down for what promises to be a long wait.

“I think he’s got to mull it all over and chew on it,” said Childress when asked about Favre’s latest decision.

The good news for Childress and the Vikings is that Favre proved last year he doesn’t need much time to get ready. He made his decision to sign with the Vikings right before the season began and he played great. It may have actually been Favre’s best season of his career.

The 40-year-old Favre had 33 touchdowns and 4,202 passing yards. He only threw for seven interceptions and had a career-high 107.2 quarterback ranking. Although his season ended with a bad mistake that cost Minnesota a chance at a Super Bowl appearance, it’s obvious that the Vikings need and want him back.

Personally, I think Favre comes back. The Vikings are true Super Bowl contenders if Favre returns … and he knows that. But I expect him to wait it out, hype up the drama and miss as much of training camp as possible.

PepsiCo Sees Big Money in Healthy Foods

Posted: 22 Mar 2010 08:55 PM PDT

When you think of PepsiCo, you likely don’t think of healthy foods. Instead, you think of sweet soda and salty snacks. But PepsiCo sees a bright future in their health-focused lines that include Quaker, Dole and Tropicana. The goal of CEO Indra Nooyi is to triple PepsiCo’s revenue from healthy foods between now and 2020 — which would be a jump from $10 billion to $30 billion.

“The potential for the growth of this market is enormous,” said Nooyi at its investor event on Monday, “and for a player who wants to play in this market intelligently, the opportunities are really incredible.”

Although it’s true that governments are pushing for healthy food options, they aren’t the only ones. In fact, most of the pushing is coming from consumers. These consumers are even willing to pay more money for healthy food. PepsiCo is listening.

Said Nooyi: “We believe that a healthier future for all people and our planet means a more successful future for PepsiCo.”
