| Star Jones Heart Surgery a Success Posted: 22 Mar 2010 04:15 PM PDT Star Jones recently went under the knife once again. No, it wasn’t a second gastric bypass surgery. It was actually another heart surgery — the first of which occurred more than 30 years ago due to a thoracic tumor. The latest surgery reportedly went well. “The procedure was successful and she is recovering well with her family,” a rep for Star Jones told ET. “Star is grateful for everyone’s thoughts and prayers.” On Twitter, Star worked in some current events in a recent tweet after the surgery. Said Star: “Can u imagine me trying to recover WITHOUT healthcare. Those who voted against it need to hand their heads in shame!” Star Jones is a lawyer known for her television work — primarily on “The View”. In 2003, Star had gastric bypass surgery that resulted in her losing more than 150 pounds in the next three years. According to sources, she had been preparing for this latest surgery for a number of months. Post from: EveryJoe Star Jones Heart Surgery a Success |
| Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen Wed Posted: 22 Mar 2010 03:58 PM PDT After much delay, Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen have officially tied the knot. In a report by Woman’s Day, the couple got married in Paris before a few close friends and relatives. The Jewish ceremony was said to be relatively simple but very romantic. Isla Fisher is a 34-year-old Australian actress famous for her work in “Wedding Crashers”, “Confessions of a Shopaholic”, “Definitely, Maybe” and “Hot Rod”. Sacha Baron Cohen, 38, is an English comedian who might be better known as Ali G, Bruno or Borat Sagdiyev — depending on which character is your favorite. Isla and Sacha first met in 2002. Two years later, Sacha popped the question and they became engaged. While rumors swirled after the couple postponed their wedding a few times, it turns out that they were telling the truth when stating they were simply waiting for the right time. The couple, along with their daughter Olive, are expected to split their time between London and Los Angeles. Post from: EveryJoe Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen Wed |
| Cornell Headed to the Sweet 16 Posted: 21 Mar 2010 08:55 PM PDT Headed into March Madness, Cornell was regarded as the best Ivy League participant in over a decade. However, that wasn’t saying much since the Ivy League is almost always one-and-done. But not this year. By dominating Wisconsin 87-69, Cornell is headed to the Sweet 16 — the first time an Ivy League team has reached the Sweet 16 in over 30 years. Point guard Louis Dale and sharpshooter Ryan Wittman led the way for Cornell. Dale had 26 points and three assists, while Wittman had 24 points on 10-for-15 shooting from the field — including a trio of three-pointers. Cornell, a 12th seed, needed to play a perfect game to beat Wisconsin — and they virtually did just that. They shot 61.1% from the floor, 53.3% from beyond the three-point line and 81.3% from the charity stripe. They also outrebounded Wisconsin 27-20 and turned the ball over just eight times. With the win, Cornell is now 29-4 on the season. Since losing to top ranked Kansas on Jan. 6, the team has won 17 of their last 18 games. Everyone loves a Cinderella team. This year’s Cinderella might wear glasses and have a pocket protector, though they can definitely play the game of basketball. Post from: EveryJoe Cornell Headed to the Sweet 16 |
| Tiger Woods Admits to “Bad Things” Posted: 21 Mar 2010 08:55 PM PDT Tiger Woods is talking again. This time, he had consented to a five-minute interview with Tom Rinaldi of ESPN. The interview, which took place with both men standing at Isleworth golf club near Tiger’s home in Florida, didn’t get into too much depth but it was interesting to see Tiger talking without a script. Said Tiger: “I’ve done some pretty bad things in my life.” Rinaldi tried to get Tiger to give a number for the number of women he cheated with but Tiger dodged the question. “Just one is enough,” he said, “and obviously that wasn’t the case.” When pushed for answers, Tiger repeated said that the specifics were between him and his wife Erin. Rinaldi then asked why Tiger has decided to go public if he considers a private matter. Responded Tiger: “I hurt a lot of people — not just my wife. My friends, my colleagues, the public, kids who looked up to me. There were a lot of people that thought I was a different person and my actions were not according to that: That’s why I had to apologize. I was so sorry for what I had done.” Tiger will return to golf in April at the Masters. When asked what he expected from the fans, Tiger said: “I’m a little nervous about that to be honest with you. It would be nice to hear a couple claps here and there.” Post from: EveryJoe Tiger Woods Admits to “Bad Things” |

| Photoshop or Not: Smallest Chameleon Posted: 21 Mar 2010 08:25 PM PDT Sometimes you see photos that are so unbelievable that you think they must have been altered. This tiny chameleon definitely appears too small to be real. So, what do you think…Photoshop or Not?
Well, it’s not. This is the Brookesia minima chameleon, said to be the world’s smallest chameleon. They are native to Nosy Be, an island located just off the northwest coast of Madagascar and also can be found at the Manongarivo Reserve on Madagascar’s northwest coast. These little chameleons have a maximum size of just over an inch (1.3 in for females, 1.1 for males). Image: Muzzanese – Flickr Post from: EveryJoe Photoshop or Not: Smallest Chameleon |

| Posted: 21 Mar 2010 08:03 PM PDT All eyes were on the House of Representatives on Sunday. And when all was said and done, President Obama’s health care bill passed in a 219-212 vote. All 178 Republicans voted against the bill, along with 34 Democrats. The bill had cleared the Senate back in December, and now goes to the President’s desk to be signed into law. The $940 billion plan is expected to extend insurance coverage to approximately 32 million Americans who are uninsured. For a look at what’s in the bill, including mandates and subsidies, check out the Health Care Bill Summary from CBSNews.com. ![]() Image: istockphoto Post from: EveryJoe |
